Band students will have two band classes every week. One of these classes is small group lessons, the other is large group rehearsals.
Small Group Lessons – One 25-30 min lesson in the Bel Air band room with students that play the same, or similar instruments. These lessons happen in the first two hours of the school day Monday-Friday starting the week of 9/16. Lesson Schedule will be ready in early September.
Large Group Rehearsals – We meet Thursday mornings from 7:35-8:30 in the Highview Middle School band room starting on 9/19. Because we rehearse at Highview, students will be offered free bus transportation to Highview on the regularly scheduled Highview bus service in the morning as well as a return bus back to Bel Air after rehearsal. Once you fill out this form, I will get your student a bus pass.
Concerts – We have 3 evening concerts that students are required to attend.
• Winter Concert: Thursday, December 12, 6:30PM at Bel Air
• West Side Band Festival: Tuesday, January 28, 7:00-8:00 PM at Irondale High School
• Spring Concert: Wednesday, May 20, 6:00-6:30 PM at Bethel University
Practice - Students are expected to make practicing part of their daily routine (at least 20 minutes a day).
